    Been a while

    Hello once again.

Wow has it been a while. I never was very good at keeping journals... oh well.  A lot has been going on.

My wife continues with her accupuncture therapy... Going bi-weekly now, and the second week gets painful, but I feel that she continues to get better.

I have been burning the candle at both ends again. I am currently doing the show Narnia with a local theatre group.. I was cast as Fenris Ulf, which I try not to pull in too much of Fenrir's personality during the run. The show has been going well.. though I WAS stabbed by a rapier on opening night, no lasting damage from the blunted weapon though.

Finally, my wife has gotten a little closer to finding her path. She does not feel completely comfortable with what she has been learning from the circle we were a part of... nor does she feel at ease with following the norse pantheon that I am finding myself drawn to. Now we are simply trying to figure out a way for us to celebrate together in a way that we are both happy. I am sure that will come with time.

    Two points of interest

Tuesday, May 1, 2007, 11:15 PM CST [General]

    Hello Friends,

Hope your Beltane has been blessed.

For those of you who have been following the saga of my wife, the news is continuing to be good. As of this week, she is completely drug free (minus a little anti-inflamatory pills) and is solely using accupuncture. We shall see how this week holds out, but to say that she was happy to finally be able to drink some of my home brew now that she is off the drugs would be a serious understatement. I foresee her catching up on her mead drinking this weekend during our Beltane celebration.

As for me, in honoring my official acceptance of the Norse Gods in my life, I am making it known the change in my "name." While I have been searching my path, I have honored my personal guide by taking his name along the journey. As of this day, I will now claim the name I feel to be branded in my soul. That name is Randulfr, Old norse for "Shield Wolf." I find this name to be quite apt for many reasons.

       Till next our paths cross

    Update on the Wife

Monday, April 23, 2007, 11:03 PM CST [General]

My wife came home from her accupuncture treatments in high spirits today. The accupuncturist told her that she needs to try to talk the doctor into getting her off the Methotrexate COMPLETELY. For those reading this not in the know, that is a chemotherapy drug they use for serious cases of arthritis. She is also needing to try cutting the anti-inflamatories to half the dose. Since we were thinking that she was going to be on these pills for the rest of her life, this is good news indeed. We have been made believers in accupunture.

    Continuing Saga

Monday, April 9, 2007, 10:59 PM CST [General]

Continuing the saga that is my life. My wife had hersecond treatment of Acupuncture for the "arthritis" almost a week ago. She started the week out well, then the cold snap hit and she has been sore a lot. I DID get out of her that it is still not as bad as it used to be, so hopes are still high. She goes in for the third treatment tomorrow (April 10th).

On an actual personal note, I know, wow, something about me in my blog for once. After over a year of doing some serious soul searching, I am finally narrowing down the path that is me. When I first started out a mere 1 1/2 years ago (yes I am THAT new) I was still in the christian mindset of going with the flow. I finally realized that what I was being taught was not feeling proper. I made an vow at Samhain last year that by the end of this year, I will know what I wanted, and that day is finally coming to pass. The norse gods have called me, and I am heeding them. Whether or not I call myself Asatru/Heathen, or simply a "Pagan with norse roots" is going to fall completely in the definitions, and how they fit with how I feel.

My wife is also having a crisis of faith at this time. She has had a lot of bad things happen in her relatively short life span (29 years) and the arthritis is simply the latest. She was never very religious to start with, and it was her that got us into the alternate paths to begin with. She has a basic belief in the duality, but she is worrying over karma at the present. With how much she has had to go through so far this lifetime, she has been wondering what she had to have done in her previous lifetime for the "Karmic justice." (I do not think that these worries are helping her in the first place, but if she would go through a day without worrying over 10 different things, it would be a miracle.) I am trying to get her to start a page here so that she can work it out with people she does not know and have no "alternate motives" other than to help. Hopefully she will do this soon.

Well, enough for my ramble. Time to sleep.

    Acupuncture

Thursday, March 29, 2007, 09:18 AM CST [General]

Well, My wife had her first session this week. They told her that her "Arthritis" was actually being caused by her spleen. It seems it is not talking well with the rest of her body. They stuck her with a whole lot of needles, and two days later, is moving better than she has in weeks. She is going to go back for 4 more treatments before she heads back to her rheumatologist. Hopefully this will knock off some of the medication she is currently taking.
